Off the back of his recent release – Bluebird Days – Jordan Davis delivered a perfectly positioned and poised showcase of some of his biggest tracks infused with his newest at London’s O2 as part of C2C Festival. Across the hour long set, Davis navigated performances of some his biggest party anthems (‘Take It From Me’) to his most emotional moments (‘Money Isn’t Real’).

Undoubtedly, two easy highlights from Davis’ set were provided on his cover of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ married with his hit song ‘Detours’ and his final track ‘Buy Dirt.’ It was clear that Davis was having a riotously good time seeing the mammoth reaction from his UK fan base who knew ever word to his tracks.

Davis proved that he is a stalwart and dependable performer, who can easily craft a hit that an audience can sing back word perfect. Although, perhaps his performance came across as somewhat lacking, sandwiched between one of the biggest rising stars and one of the highlights of the weekend (Lainey Wilson and Thomas Rhett). Still, Davis proved that he has a fanbase here, who will be eager to see him return.

Paris Adams, founder member, lead vocalist and main songwriter of The Adelaides, has launched her solo career with the release of her single ‘Gold.’ ‘Gold’ was recorded in Nashville with Grammy winning producer Femke Weidema, and Paris will follow it by performing a slot on each of the three days of the prestigious C2C Festival at the O2 in March. The track is the powerful result of a year writing in Nashville and in the UK – showcasing her immense vocal range and her ability to craft an effortless country song. ‘Gold’ represents nothing less than the emergence of a major new solo artist in the international Country scene, as the confirmation of her C2C appearances attest. Building on what is already an incredible track record for such a young artist, this single is just the first sign of what is yet to come. With ‘Gold’, Paris Adams is truly setting the standard for what UK country can and should be.
  
Whilst Paris made her live debut as a solo artist on the Caitlyn Smith tour of October 2022, she is a seasoned performer. The Adelaides played at British Summertime in London’s Hyde Park two years running as support to Michael Bublé (2018) and Celine Dion (2019). The Adelaides, who sadly fell victim to the enforced hiatus over COVID, had even received an unprecedented invitation to perform a repeat slot at CMA Fest in Nashville in 2020; having already appeared in 2019. The offer from Country’s biggest worldwide showcase came after the band had established a following with a series of special guest appearances with the likes of Charles Esten, who personally requested them to perform with him on two major British tours including a sell-out date at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
 
Paris has also featured on tours with Kiefer Sutherland, Catherine McGrath, Ashley Campbell & Mo Pitney, Andy Brown and Key West. Festival appearances include Ramblin’ Man, Cornbury, Nashville Meets London, Black Deer and the Long Road Festival.

Alex Williams was on top of the world following a very successful debut record in 2017, but it was a quick fall when the temptations of the “rockstar life” caught up to him. On his new song ‘Waging Peace’ (out now), the title track of his anticipated sophomore record – out 21st October 2022 via Lightning Rod Records – Williams lays down his weapons of self-destruction and finds peace. It’s one of the most compelling and triumphant autobiographical songs from his new album, which follows his critically-acclaimed major label debut in 2017 (Better Than Myself / BMLG).“I chose this song as the title track because it seemed like the centerpiece for this whole project as far as the subject matter goes,” says Williams. “I wrote this at home in 2020 during the initial part of the pandemic, and it’s a song about finding peace and optimism within yourself in this world, amongst the troubled times we live in, as well as the guilt one may hang on to that seems to never let go of the mental game. Discovering that we are always our own worst enemy, and that making changes to better ourselves is the best thing we can do in order to see and truly cherish the important things that shine the brightest in our lives.”

Produced by GRAMMY-winner Ben Fowler and featuring artists like Mickey Raphael on harmonica and Danny Dugmore on pedal steel, Waging Peace is rooted in country tradition and a bold, against-the-grain swagger, accompanied by Williams’ organic twang and retrofuzz. Throughout 12 songs, Williams shares an unseen side of his life and his personal battle between good and evil. Williams introduced the record last month with first single ‘No Reservations’.

The video, which was directed, filmed and edited by Joshua Britt & Neilson Hubbard, and filmed at Waylon’s Bar in Marion, Indiana, helps the song set the unglamorous scene of life on the road for a musician bouncing around dingy motels and back-alley bars, and enjoying every minute of it, as Williams plays to a biker gang crowd toasting dive bar beers.

Eric Paslay has announced his forthcoming album Even If It Breaks Your Barefoot Friday Night will be released on 15th April. Featuring his take on some of his biggest hits as both an artist and a songwriter, the highly-respected musician released three songs on Friday to kick-off the project – more songs will be released on 1 April with the full album available on 15 April.

‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night’ was a No. 1 hit for Jake Owen and named the No.1 Song of the Decade by Country Aircheck. It is Certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA. ‘The Driver’ was released in 2016 by Charles Kelley featuring Dierks Bentley and Paslay and was nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. ‘High Class’ was originally released by Paslay in 2015 and written with Corey Crowder and Jesse Frasure. It went Top 40 on the Country charts and remains a fan favourite.

Eric is also set to release his series of NFT drops surrounded by the Even If It Breaks Your Barefoot Friday Night album with the help of Solo Music. The music industry once faced a drastic impact with the emergence of the internet and now history is repeating itself. The industry is about to see another creative revolution, as a direct result of blockchain technology empowering artists to take charge of their careers and giving them access to their fans like never before. C2C have confirmed the full complete line up of festival stages across The O2, London featuring over 100 performances across the weekend.  C2C provides an incredible opportunity for fans of country to discover and support new artists from all over the UK, Europe and the US.  C2C ticket holders will have access The Town Square, The Big Entrance, BBC Radio 2 Stage (at Indigo at The O2), Country Music Week Hub and The Saloon (All Bar One), The Icon Stage and The Garden Stage.

Country to Country will officially kick off at midday on Friday and 10.00am on Saturday and Sunday when the Town Square opens, and the first Festival stage artists start. Festival activities include market stalls and stands, country memorabilia and merchandise, hot food stands, cocktails, prosecco, craft beers and more. All visitors to The O2 can access the free stages which are Big Entrance Stage, Icon Stage and Garden Stage.

Festival stage stars join mainstage headliners Luke Combs, Darius Rucker and Miranda Lambert. Also making their return are multiple CMA Award winners and nominees Kip Moore, Brett Young, and Ashley McBryde alongside Russell Dickerson, Scotty McCreery, Flatland Cavalry, Tennille Townes and Hailey Whitters who all make their main stage debuts.

Inside the arena, C2C hosts a spotlight stage featuring sets across the weekend from Avery Anna, Breland, Brittney Spencer, Callie Twisselman, Callista Clark, Eric Kinsey, Matt Stell, Seaforth and Tenille Arts.  At C2C Glasgow the spotlight stage will also make a return featuring sets from Brittney Spencer, Callista Clark, Erin Kinsey, Matt Stell, Seaforth and Tenille Arts.

 Fans should also expect surprise artist announcements across the weekend, details of which will be revealed on the C2C app. The app will feature stage times, artist info plus notifications about competitions, secret performances and more. One of the best selling books of 2020 – The Vanishing Half – is set to become a TV show, having been bought at auction for a reported seven figure sum, with 17 bidders competing for the rights, according to Deadline. The book that tells the story of two identical sisters, Desiree and Stella Vignes who separate at 16 – one passing for white – and the different lives that they lead as a result of this decision. One of the sisters is living a life of secrecy – her husband and daughter know nothing of her past – while Desiree has returned to their hometown. Their daughters are consumed by the weight of the secrets both sisters have lived under for most of their adult lives.

Brit Bennett will reportedly serve as executive producer for the limited series alongside Issa Rae and her Hoorae production company, while Aziza Barnes and Jeremy O. Harris will write and executive produce the HBO adaptation. No casting has yet been announced, and neither has an official release date.
