With another number one under his belt with ‘What My World Spins Around,’ Jordan Davis will this week release his sophomore album – Bluebird Days. Pre-save the album here.

Ahead of his performance as part of this year’s C2C 2023 Festival, Jordan Davis will this week release his second studio album – Bluebird Days – a captivating record that shows a snapshot of Davis, as he is now in his life and career, a movement forward from his debut album Home State, released back in 2018.

Davis has always had an ease about him when he steps into easy-breezy, summer jams, but he truly hits his stride when these are met with lyrical twists, giving them a needed spice. So, on the record’s opening track, Davis hits the gas pedal on ‘Damn Good Time,’ a charming track about enjoying the lighter side of life. Elsewhere, Davis offers bigger, heavier production on his upbeat party tracks. So, on the funk-laden ‘One Beer In Front Of The Other,’ Davis easily trips around his lyrics in an intoxicating track about drinking to forget – a theme he returns to on ‘Whiskey Weak’ – a sultrier and lazier groove of a track (‘She stole the bright out the neon / Got me running up these tabs… Her “Goodbye” ruined everything / Her leaving even made the whiskey weak.’) On the former though, Davis’ lyricism is on point – simple words to fit complicated and twisted rhythms. ‘The only way to make the moving on train go / Is putting one beer in front of the other / Linkin’ drink rings into another / ‘Cause your goodbye kinda hurt like a mother / But I’m thinking maybe that I’m on the upper.’ More than anything else, the track really is a damn good time.

Davis’ sweet spot has been refined over the years, honed to tracks with real depth and a moral story – couched in charming production and lyricism. So, ‘Money Isn’t Real’ and ‘Buy Dirt’ celebrate the importance of real things in life and not losing sight of your roots. On the former, Davis realises this when seeing empty chairs at a rich man’s funeral that makes him realise that his jealousy was unfounded. ‘Money isn’t real, can’t call you like your momma does / It can’t make you old friends, it can’t make you young again… It’s just paper and some ink / It’ll never ask you how you feelWhen it comes to happiness, money isn’t real.’ It’s a meaningful tune about what is important in life and Davis vocal – both sonically and lyrically – cuts through. Similarly, ‘Sunday Saints’ is another mellow track about living large and full, yet still retaining faith. ‘Yeah, we’re hell-bent on calling heaven home when He calls our name / We’re the don’t-stop believers, the somewhere-between-ers / The Saturday sinners and the Sunday saints.’ It’s a gorgeous track – sampling ‘When The Saints Go Marching In’ – with ease and following the line of ‘Church in a Chevy’ shines a light on the unconventional ways to celebrate faith.

Nowhere is this poignancy and intimacy more refined on Bluebird Days than on ‘Fishing Spot’ – a gorgeous track (don’t be put off by the title) – about missing his late grandfather and visiting him at their place they shared together – their fishing spot. ‘You always knew how to listen and just what to say / And that’s what brought me out here today / Instead of standing at your stone, I’m sittin’ on your rock / Catching up with you at your fishin’ spot.’ It’s sentimental, without falling into cliche and there’s real emotional power in the lyrics that peels back and reveals a little more on every line.

Of course, there’s a good amount of ink spilled on the album on old-fashioned country love songs, but again Davis is a masterful enough songwriter to make these feel both unique and personal. So, ‘What My World Spins Around’ is a rock-edged and raucous track about an immense love ‘I don’t even know what it is, but now that I’ve found it / I can’t imagine me living without it’ and ‘Next Thing You Know’ is as charming as they get – a track about the undeniability of love. ‘Next thing you know / You’re savin’ money like never before / Just to spend it all at a jewelry store / Gettin’ down on one knee on her mama’s porch / Just prayin’ she don’t say, “No” / Next thing you know.’

Where Bluebird Days evolves yet further and shows Davis’ growth as an artist is in his increasing vulnerability and intimacy with his audience. On ‘What I Wouldn’t Do’ and ‘Short Fuse’ he narrates his own failings as a human and his regrets in life. ‘Bluebird Days’ though is an easy stand-out – a melancholic, soaring track about his parents’ divorce. ‘Two hearts fell in love / And two hearts grew apart / They went their separate ways / And our bluebird days went dark.’ It’s a gorgeous and sweet piano-laced ballad that doesn’t feel over done, despite its poignancy and intimacy. It is perhaps this track that best shows Davis’ depth as a songwriter, where touches are enough to paint a broad picture and allowing listeners to paint the broad brushstrokes with their own experiences.

Sonically, the album doesn’t evolve hugely from what we have heard from Davis previously – albeit vocally he transforms on the gruffer tones of ‘No Time Soon’, but lyrically there is an increase in maturity and depth on the record that gives it real power. Davis packs emotional heft and punches where it is needed and couches the rest of the record in clever, intricate lyrics that are immense fun to unpack and listen to. A truly solid record that shows Davis’ staying power as an artist.

CMA Song of the Year winner, Jordan Davis has released his new track – Part of It, available to listen to everywhere now here.

Multi-Platinum MCA Nashville hitmaker Jordan Davis earned his first CMA Award Wednesday evening for his 2x Platinum, multi-week No. 1 hit single, “Buy Dirt.” The track is one of the most streamed songs of the year in 2021 and 2022 – co-written by Davis and his brother Jacob, and Matt and Josh Jenkins. “Buy Dirt” is currently also nominated for Favorite Country Song at the 2022 American Music Awards, airing November 20th on ABC.  Now, Davis has released a brand new track, “Part of It,” as the latest preview of songs from his upcoming highly anticipated next album. Co-written by Davis, the song was also penned by fellow CMA Song of the Year recipient and brother Jacob Davis, and Jordan Walker and Matt McKinney.

As always, ‘Part of It’ shows off Davis’ honeyed vocals as he celebrates authenticity and his roots, in an ode to love and the everyday side of life – every part of it, the good and the bad, the twists and turns being a ‘part of’ it all.

Daddy said, I know ya thought she was the one and it ain’t not fun, but, son, that’s part of it

Sometimes you’re gonna hurt like hell and have some scars from it

Leave ya with a story to tell

Ya live and learn and good ones go

You find out on down the road

When ya lay it all out and get down to the heart of it

Man, that’s just life and that’s all part of it

Following the success of his hit single ‘What My World Spins Around,’ Jordan Davis has released a brand new track, ‘Next Thing You Know,’ out everywhere now.

Following the success of his latest single “What My World Spins Around,” Jordan Davis has released a brand new track – ‘Next Thing You Know’ – as a continuation of releases from his highly anticipated upcoming album. Written by Davis, Chase McGill, Josh Osborne, and Greylan James, “Next Thing You Know” is available everywhere here. The track is a humble and authentic track about the evolution of Davis’ life over the past several years, as Davis describes his life from dating to a baby and it’s as charming as they come.

Next thing you know saving money like never before

Just to spend it all at a jewelry store

Getting down on one knee on her momma’s porch Just pray she don’t say no

Next thing you know your best man gives a half drunk speech

And your sunburn on a honeymoon beach

And your left hand is getting used to that ring

There the next two or three years ago

Next thing you know

Weren’t really trying next thing you know

There’s a test on the counter next thing you know

She’s standing there crying nodding her head yes

Your half excited half scared to death

Cause next thing you know

You’re wearing scrubs and a funny white hat

And the doctor’s sayin how you doing there dad and

Nobody’s ever called you that

And you take the drive home slow

Next thing you know its first steps, first date, first car

Its 11:01 wondering where they are

You sayin’ that USC’s too far

Its amazing how fast seventeen years go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

The track is the latest glimpse at new music from Davis, who, with his 2X Platinum-Certified single “Buy Dirt” (feat. Luke Bryan), topped the Country radio airplay charts for two weeks and amassed more than 626 MILLION global streams. “Buy Dirt” tallied multiple awards nominations as a finalist for Top Country Song at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, nominated for Musical Event of the Year at the 55th  CMA Awards, and for Music Event, Single, and Song of the Year at the 57th ACM Awards. “What My World Spins Around” Lyrics:

I love a first cast when the water’s glass

And the line starts to run

Or that first sip of a cold beer

When the working week’s done

I love the twilight in the morning

‘Fore the day wakes up

And the windows down on the first ride

In a paid up truck

And I love a slow down in a beach town

With an ocean view

And I love a first fall Saturday trip

Down to Baton Rouge

And I love a six string with the stars out

And the campfire glow

But girl, that don’t even come close

To the way that it feels

When you lean in and kiss me

The way that you dance

When you get kinda tipsy

I’m wrapped ’round your finger

Like this ring I’m wearing

That look in your eye, girl

When you catch me staring

I don’t even know what it is

But now that I found it

I can’t imagine me living without this

Back 40 view on our piece of ground

Watching you watch the sun going down

That’s what my world spins around

Well, I finally get it now

When they say you know you know

And yeah, girl you had me

From that first hello

And the only thing better

Is heaven above

But until I get there

I’ll never get enough of

The way that it feels

When you lean in and kiss me

The way that you dance

When you get kinda tipsy

I’m wrapped ’round your finger

Like this ring I’m wearing

That look in your eye, girl

When you catch me staring

I don’t even know what it is

But now that I found it

I can’t imagine me living without this

Back 40 view on our piece of ground

Watching you watch the sun going down

That’s what my world spins around

What my world spins around

Oh yeah

The way that it feels

When you lean in and kiss me

The way that you dance

When you get kinda tipsy

And I’m wrapped ’round your finger

Like this ring I’m wearing

That look in your eye, girl

When you catch me staring

I don’t even know what it is

But now that I found it

I can’t imagine me living without this

Back 40 view on our piece of ground

Watching you watch the sun going down

That’s what my world spins around

You’re what my world spins around

What my world spins around

Rising country duo Seaforth have teamed up with their former tour mate Jordan Davis on brand new track “Good Beer,” available to stream/download everywhere now.

“We haven’t put music out in a minute, but we got tired of shedding tears and wanted to come into 2022 swingin’,” joked Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson. “We wrote ‘Good Beer’ with two of our best mates, Rocky Block and Jordan Dozzi, and we think it’s a fun way to give folks a sneak peek at a new project we’re excited to share soon. Obviously having Jordan Davis on this track is exciting for us, he’s a full-blown legend. We’re fans of his and now friends, so we’re stoked to share it with him too.”

“Good Beer” is the duo’s first release since their viral hit “Breakups,” which earned over 250 million global on-demand streams. This new offering kicks off 2022 with Seaforth’s signature good vibes and cheeky humour.

“Although our golf skills are comparable to a sleeping humpback whale, as soon as we saw Blythe Thomas’ treatment for the video, we knew it was the perfect fit. We had such a great day filming it as we got to just have fun and show our personality…plus we got some super trendy outfits out of it. The whole thing is lighthearted, much like the song. We hope everyone digs it!”

Fresh off their opening stint on Jordan’s BUY DIRT TOUR, Seaforth will appear in London, UK for C2C: Country To Country on March 13th, performing on the Spotlight Stage at the O2 Arena, and Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, FL (US) on April 8th.

Jordan Davis premieres poignant new music video for his single ‘Buy Dirt’ featuring Luke Bryan.

MCA Nashville’s Jordan Davis released the official music video of his new single “Buy Dirt,” today. Davis wrote “Buy Dirt” amid the pandemic with the newfound perspective that, despite the entire world on pause, he still had what mattered most to him – his faith, his family, and his friends. In his new music video, Davis alongside country superstar Luke Bryan illustrate the story behind the poignant song.

“Buy Dirt” is one of Davis’ fastest growing songs to date, having spent 11 consecutive weeks inside the Top 200 on the Country Streaming Chart and currently sitting at No. 47 on the chart. The song has garnered 45 million global streams and over 28 thousand track downloads. “Buy Dirt” is currently Top 40 and climbing on the country radio charts, following Davis’ most recent Top 5 single, “Almost Maybes,” and his three consecutive multi-platinum No. 1 singles, “Singles You Up,” “Take It From Me,” and “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot.” Davis and Bryan performed “Buy Dirt” on NBC’S 3rd Hour of TODAY this past June. Additionally, the singer/songwriter will hit the road this Fall performing on Kane Brown’s Blessed and Free Tour and his own headlining Buy Dirt Tour. Davis’ full list of tour dates can be found here.

Jordan Davis has recently released his phenomenal new EP – Buy Dirt. Here, we interview Davis about the project, collaborating with Luke Bryan and how the past year, family and faith have shaped his music.

Hey, how are you doing?

I’m doing great. Thanks for hanging with me.

You must be so excited to finally be able to hit the road again?

We are excited, it’s the first time I’ve ever been this long without playing live music so it’s gonna be good to get back. We have a lot of music that we’ve released but never played.

That must be crazy, because you’ve released two incredible projects and it must be weird thinking that you haven’t actually played them live.

Yeah, definitely. I mean, we just got word today that we’re number six on the country charts with ‘Almost Maybes’ and I’ve never played it full band to a crowd, so that’s pretty crazy.

Honestly, I feel like that song has been out for much longer than a year.

I know, there’s other songs like ‘Church in a Chevy’ too that I’m ready to play out live. There’s been such a great response and that’s another list of songs that we get to put into the show. We’re excited to get into rehearsals and start seeing where they all stake out.

100%. I know that you worked again with Paul DiGiovanni on this project and you’ve worked with him quite a few times now, but you guys managed to infuse something really fresh into the sound – like on ‘I Still Smoked’ there are some really fresh ideas. Did that kind of come out through the pandemic? I can imagine it was strange, recording remotely in the studio.

I think some of that was what we were shooting to – this sound that we’re trying to chase down. Paul and I write together a lot, we get to have those conversations even before we start the production process. With ‘Trying’ and ‘Drink Had Me’ that started the second we started writing the song. It’s kind of cool to get to talk through those sounds. Like you said, we never made a record remotely, most of it just came from taking chances and doing our own thing with it.

Was it a very remote process – were these songs written remotely or were they a part of the transition period we’ve been in back to doing things in person?

So ‘I Still Smoke’ was a two or three year old song, so that was already done and then all the rest of them were co-written in person, but at a social distance. In the recording process, we were able to do it safely – everyone had to wear masks but at least we were able to go into the studio.

That must have been so refreshing, to tap into people’s energies. With this project, you really dived in a layer deeper again. You tapped into faith and family and also your own flaws – ‘Trying’ was such a standout track for me because I feel like everyone can relate to that song. Was that something that was really important to you to reveal all the different parts of yourself in these projects?

I think a lot of that came from the pandemic and the shutdown, being able to see everything outside of music and the importance of faith, family and friends. You can’t help but write what you know as a writer that was another reason why I wanted to get this EP out before everything opens back up. The pandemic definitely aided in these lyrics being a little deeper than some of the previous tracks.

It must have been nice as well to spend time with her and have that time with her. It must have been special to reflect on that in these songs.

It definitely was – that was one of the silver linings of this, getting to spend time with her and watch her grow up. It was really special to get to spend some time with her. Now we’ve got another one on the way, I guess I looked at some of the events, when she started walking and I thought I would not have been home for that and I’m probably not going to get that time again – god willing if there isn’t another global pandemic.

I don’t think any of us could deal with that! You kicked off this project with ‘Blow Up Your TV’ that was a John Prine-inspired track that was an external cut. Obviously we lost John Prine during the pandemic, but what did that song and his music mean to you? Can you talk about the first time you heard that track and why you decided to record it for the project?

Yeah, I can remember the first time I heard it. My dad would always play his music, we had a hunting camp about an hour and a half outside of Shreveport and my dad would always play his music when we were driving to it – we listened to John Prine and Neil Diamond, those kind of singer-songwriter guys. The first time I heard ‘Spanish Pipe Dream,’ I was probably about ten years old. I remember liking the song but it wasn’t until we lost John Prine during the pandemic. I’ve never listened to more of his songs than I did then.

I remember that time, I think I listened to his music for two weeks straight.

Yeah, I think anytime you lose a legend like that, you know it’s something about knowing that we’re never going to get another John Prine, it makes you appreciate the music he left us with so much more. For me ‘Spanish Pipe Dream,’ ‘throw away your papers’ that for me was the past two years of wanting to stop looking at the news because it was all just craziness. You know ‘Blow up your TV / Throw away your paper / Go to the country / Build you a home / Plant a little garden / Eat a lot of peaches. / Try an’ find Jesus on your own.’ That song and those ideas were the catalyst to the project.

It was a beautiful lead in and it sort of sets the scene, knowing what influenced your music and infusing loads of different elements into your music. Obviously you’ve then got this mammoth collaboration with Luke Bryan and I know you guys have been friends for years. How did it go from knowing him and playing golf to deciding to sit down and record some music together?

Yeah, I mean Luke really is one of the best guys, he’s a really genuinely good guy. I got to know him over the past couple years and get to hang with him. We talked about everything but music and so when we finished ‘Buy Dirt,’ Luke stood out to me because I feel like the values of that song were the definition of Luke Bryan. So I sent him a text message and told him how much the song meant to me. I had a good feeling that he was going to resonate with it, I was just hoping that he had time – he’s a busy guy. So, yeah, he jumped on it and wanted to be a part of it. I do know how busy he is with his own music and everything else that he’s got going on. It meant a lot that he took the time to sing that with me. I’m very grateful.

At the end of the day, Luke Bryan is a huge superstar and you’ve both got amazingly successful careers, but the real message of it was just doing what you love and ‘call it work’ and going back to the roots of ‘putting money in the plate at church’ just simple things that are so important in life. I think that’s what we’ve all hopefully got out of this pandemic – learning how important that message is?

I mean the pandemic was a terrible thing for everybody, but it was a major learning phase for me. Sometimes we can complicate this thing and a lot of things that we really don’t need. It took everything else going away to realise that you need to focus on the things that are going to be here no matter what. It’s a special song to me, so I’m very grateful to Luke.

Then obviously you’ve got this amazing video with Hannah Brown. How much fun was that to be able to record with people again and be able to give that song the attention it deserves?

It was fun and it was so cool for Hannah to jump in on the video. It’s cool to have a vision and thought and then brought it to fruition. Hannah’s in LA and she’s busy as can be. I sent her a message on direct message on Instagram – I’m now I’m realising I send a lot of people messages. So anyway, I was just grateful – that song just fit Hannah. It was really cool that she was able to make it work and play on her very public dating career. She’s got a boyfriend now and she’s rocking and rolling and made the video ten times better. It’s awesome.

Talking about going back on tour, are there any particular songs that you’re excited to see the reaction to – obviously it is really fun to play the big songs, but sometimes it’s also fun to have the stripped back moments and share that with the audience?

Yeah, I mean ‘Buy Dirt’ is one that we’re really excited to play, but also ‘Church in a Chevy’ from the self-titled EP – we had such a great response to that track with the engagement and with people reaching out. I have so many really cool messages saved of how that song affected people. That song means a lot to me and so I’m excited to play that one, it’s been so cool to see the reaction to it, I put the song on the EP because it meant a lot to me but it was one of those that I never thought I’d play live, but now I think I might get kicked out if I don’t play the song live.

Well we can’t wait to hear it live again and we can’t wait to get you back to the UK soon. Congratulations on the EP and on the new baby.

Thank you and thanks for hanging with me today.

Hot off the heels of his phenomenal self-titled EP last year that included one of our tracks of the year – ‘Church in a Chevy’ – Jordan Davis is set to release his new EP – Buy Dirt – tomorrow.

Tomorrow sees mammoth hitmaker Jordan Davis release his new EP – Buy Dirt. Produced by Paul DiGiovanni, Buy Dirt follows last year’s self-titled EP release and follows up his debut album Home State in 2018. Davis co-wrote every song on the EP – except for the John Prine inspired “Blow Up Your TV.” As a husband and new father, on this project Davis finds himself in a different place in his life, and the songs reflect it. Davis stakes his claim as a country innovator, both expanding and modernising his sound without abandoning his love for the classics, whilst demonstrating yet again his ability to craft a tender and thoughtful song, without falling into trappings of cloying sentimentality.

“I’ve always loved artists who take risks”, says Davis. “I’m in a different spot in my life than I was when I released Home State. We all are! 2020 was a tough time for everyone. I was able to use that time to recenter some things in my world, and I didn’t want those lessons to go to waste. I wanted to create something special. The best way to that was to write honestly, and we did a lot of that on this record”. Sonically, Davis does not diverge too much from the path he laid out on Home State, but what he has done over the last year is tap into a vulnerability in every aspect of his life – from family to faith to past regrets – in a way that is deeply emotional and compelling.

The project opens with the vintage sounding ‘Blow Up Your TV,’ a short introduction that sets the scene for the project to come, before diving straight into the centrepiece of the EP – the vulnerable title track ‘Buy Dirt.’ On the track, country superstar Luke Bryan lends his vocals. Of the evolution of the track, Davis recalls “That conversation always stuck with me. Luke isn’t just a great entertainer; he’s a great Dad, a great husband, and a great friend, too. That’s what ‘Buy Dirt’ embodies. When I wrote ‘Buy Dirt,’ I knew he could relate to the song’s message. I took a chance and asked him to join me on the recording, and he said yes”. The track talks about what is most important to both singers and songwriters – not money or fame but humble roots and family. ‘You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy dirt.’ It’s a tender track infused with humility through to the plucky guitar accompaniment.

Throughout the track, Davis has interweaved tracks fans will be familiar from his previous projects, including ‘Need To Not’ and ‘Almost Maybes’ that are necessary to build out the project and position Davis as an artist as capable of stripped back vulnerable moments as of stadium-ready anthemic tracks. Other new tracks on the project include ‘Drink Had Me’ that is Buy Dirt’s equivalent of ‘Singles You Up,’ a fun and flirty track about a drink getting the best of him, resulting in him going back to a lover and the pre-released ‘Lose You’ that is one of the best love songs we’ve heard from Davis, singing to his wife about not wanting to imagine a world where he loses her. However, it is possibly the final two tracks on the record where Davis shines the brightest, showing the timbre of his vocal to perfection. On ‘I Still Smoked,’ he takes a trip down memory lane, ‘We were runaway flames in a back-seat fire / Growing up fast on renegade tyres.’ The meaty production allows Davis to sink his teeth in and let his distinctive vocal fly, before moving into the more stripped back track ‘Trying’ that may be Davis’ most vulnerable track to date, laying his flaws bare. ‘I ain’t made it up the mountain but I’m climbing / Still got some miles to go but hell I’m driving / Ain’t conquered all my demons but I’m trying.‘ It’s poignant, stunningly produced and allows Davis to lay his heart on the line in a very real way.
