UK country fans are loyal. If a US artist shows their dedication to the UK fanbase at the start of the career and keeps coming back, they will be ride and die fans for that artist. Lainey Wilson has laid out a roadmap for other artists, much like Kip Moore and Cam. That dedication alone – to say nothing of her CMA wins and successes – earned Lainey her spot on the main stage (it’s a travesty she wasn’t second on the bill). Even despite losing her voice earlier in the week, Wilson delivered one of the most exhilarating performances of the weekend, with a hefty part of the setlist taken from tracks from her most recent album, Bell Bottom Country.

Lainey kicked off her set though with ‘LA,’ taken from her debut album – a gorgeous introduction to her amped up set, where her studio albums were kicked up a notch with the help of her band. It was a mark of her true showmanship that Lainey did not miss a beat throughout the set, even hitting the notes of her hit track ‘Heart Like A Truck.’ Wilson, more than anything, exhibited her vocal chops – even despite her illness – her signature twang married with an absolutely huge vocal that is simply astonishing in its live rendition.

It was a true marker for her UK fanbase of how far Lainey has come since performing at Bush Hall, to become one of the most exciting country stars of the moment. It seems inevitable that soon it will be her name topping the bill at C2C and we can’t wait for that set.

Each CMA Songwriters Series is unique—the one-off performances are spontaneous, uplifting, and heartwarming, leaving audiences feeling closer to the artists and their music.

CMA Songwriters Series has presented more than 100 shows in multiple cities across the U.S., UK, and Europe. Artists and songwriters who have participated in the series internationally include Jessi Alexander, Jimmie Allen, Priscilla Block, Kristian Bush, Cam, Shy Carter, Brandy Clark, Luke Combs, Ross Copperman, Chris DeStefano, Russell Dickerson, Natalie Hemby, Tiera Kennedy, Shane McAnally, Lori McKenna, Maren Morris, Eric Paslay, Liz Rose, Caitlyn Smith, Striking Matches, Morgan Wade, Drake White, Charlie Worsham, Chris Young and more.

“CMA Songwriters Series is one of the most special events for us to present in London each year and has become an opportunity that our Nashville community holds in high regard,” says Milly Olykan, CMA Vice President, International Relations and Development. “Songwriters are the backbone of Country Music, so to be able to showcase them in this way to such appreciative fans is an incredible honor. It is the perfect way to start the C2C weekend and we very much look forward to it once again.”

The CMA Songwriters Series has given artists including Brandy Clark, Luke Combs and Maren Morris their first U.K. performances. This year the CMA Songwriters Series at C2C is excited to introduce audiences to Nashville singer-songwriters and artists Nate Smith, Lainey Wilson and Dalton Dover, plus special guests.

Lainey Wilson announces new album – Bell Bottom Country – set for release on 28th October, now available for pre-add/pre-save here.

Lainey Wilson has announced that her new album Bell Bottom Country will be released on the 28th October via BBR Music Group/Broken Bow Records. Wilson revealed the album cover on the Paramount billboard in Times Square and released a brand-new track from the album, “Watermelon Moonshine,” to celebrate the announcement.

Bell Bottom Country draws its name directly from the moniker used to describe the Louisiana native’s unique sound, style and aesthetic — Country, but with a flare. The hotly anticipated album reflects Lainey’s depth and multifaceted character with elements of ‘70s Rock, Funk and Soul but remains Country to the core. Across the 14 songs (all of which she co-wrote, alongside one cover), Lainey reveals her dynamism and makeup as a woman – one who is wise, fun, empowering, vulnerable, badass, unceremonious, tenacious and above all else, real.

Since her debut album, Wilson’s talent has soared, and a lot has changed since the previous release. “I’ve lived quite a bit of life the past few years, and I have a lot more to say,” said Lainey Wilson. “Sure, I love a good pair of bell bottoms, but Bell Bottom Country to me has always been about the flare and what makes someone unique — I have really embraced mine, and I hope y’all can hear that across this project.”

“Watermelon Moonshine,” out now, is a retrospective coming of age ballad about young love. The song finds Lainey nostalgically reflecting on the dauntlessness of teenage love — and finds amusement in just how confidently unversed to the world she was at the time. “Watermelon Moonshine” is the second song available from Bell Bottom Country, the first being her current single “Heart Like A Truck.”

Bell Bottom Country Track Listing:

1. “Hillbilly Hippie” (Lainey Wilson, Terri Jo Box, Jeremy Bussey)

2. “Road Runner” (Lainey Wilson, Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson)

3. “Watermelon Moonshine” (Lainey Wilson, Jordan Schmidt, Josh Kear)

4. “Grease” (Lainey Wilson, Jessi Alexander, Andrew Petroff)

5. “Weak-End” (Lainey Wilson, Nicolette Hayford, Faren Rachels)

6. “Me, You, and Jesus” (Lainey Wilson, Emily Weisband, Dallas Wilson)

7. “Hold My Halo” (Lainey Wilson, Derek George, Monty Criswell, Lynn Hutton)

8. “Heart Like A Truck” (Lainey Wilson, Dallas Wilson, Trannie Anderson)

9. “Atta Girl” (Lainey Wilson, Dallas Wilson, Brett Tyler)

10. This One’s Gonna Cost Me” (Lainey Wilson, Nicolette Hayford, Faren Rachels)

11. “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song)” (Lainey Wilson, Terri Jo Box, Trent Tomlinson)

12. “Live Off” (Lainey Wilson, Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson, Adam Doleac)

Lainey Wilson performs at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest and announces recurring role on Yellowstone.

Amidst a whirlwind CMA Fest, complete with numerous appearances and six performances across three days (including Nissan Stadium), it was announced that ACM New Female Artist of the Year and iHeartRadio Music Awards’ Best New Country Artist, Lainey Wilson, will join the cast of Paramount Network’s mega hit show Yellowstone as a recurring guest star in its fifth season. The fast-rising Bell Bottom Country star will take on the role of Abby, a character Taylor Sheridan (co-creator of the show) crafted specifically for Wilson.

The “absolute star in the making” (Billboard) will play a musician on the show and perform new original music written and recorded by Wilson. This isn’t the first time her music has appeared on the show, her music has been featured three times over the course of the series and she was selected to do an exclusive performance in partnership with the show and Fritos during the commercial breaks during the season four finale.

“I’m such a fan of Yellowstone and Taylor (Sheridan)—this is an absolute dream, a dream I didn’t even know was on the menu. Taylor, Andrea and the entire team over there have been so good to me over the years and for Taylor to create a character aligned with who I am as an artist is just wild,” said Lainey Wilson. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to not only step outside my comfort zone and explore acting but to share more of my music on such an incredible platform, especially one that fans eagerly look to for music discovery.”

Lainey has been drastically increasing her audience as of late, in the past month alone Lainey has released her new (Top 40 and climbing) single, “Heart Like A Truck” and its accompanying music video, performed the “as sturdy as its title” (Rolling Stone) new song on NBC’s TODAY and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, traveled across the country performing with Hank Williams Jr. and HARDY and Morgan Wallen on the Dangerous Tour. For her second CMA Fest as an artist, Lainey performed six sets in three days including the big stage at Nissan Stadium, Chevy Riverfront Stage, Spotify House, CMA Close Up Stage, SiriusXM’s The Highway Music Row Happy Hour and the longstanding Marty Stuart Late Night Jam, where she stood on the Ryman stage to sing Hank William’s “Lost Highway” while playing a 1939 Martin guitar once owned by Johnny Cash and Williams. Several of her CMA Fest moments made Billboard, American Songwriter and Morning Hangover’s lists of best CMA Fest moments.

BMG comedian Byron Kennedy has launched his new podcast ‘Hot Chicken & Cage-Free Conversation.’ The first three episodes are now available to be streamed everywhere here.

BMG comedian Byron Kennedy has launched his unrestrained podcast, “Hot Chicken & Cage-Free Conversation.” The first three episodes featuring Country artists Jimmie Allen, Brett Eldredge and Lainey Wilson are available everywhere podcasts are streamed.
Declared the “Leonardo DaVinci of Radio” by broadcast legend Howard Stern, Kennedy was encouraged by friends and colleagues to remove himself from a highly successful career in radio and the music business to pursue his gift of comedy. His irreverent, observational style and natural storytelling flair immediately gelled with audiences across the nation, moving him quickly up the ladder from open mic nights to opening slots to feature gigs to multiple runs in Las Vegas.
Jumping into 2022 at full speed, Kennedy is not only kick starting the new year with the launch of his podcast, you can also catch the comedian on tour with award-winning Country artist and ABC’s Dancing With The Stars contestant Jimmie Allen.
Dropping a new episode every other week, this nothing-off-limits, wildly unscripted podcast will feature special guests ranging from musical artists to industry power players, professional athletes, actors, fellow comedians and more.
Never knowing what direction that conversation might take or how badly that “hot chicken” might burn, listeners are in for an entertaining ride. Each episode is filled with behind-the-scenes, never-before-heard stories brought to life by a variety of off-the-wall questions.
“The CDC says you can only listen to my podcast if you have nothing better to do, and it’s been at least five full days since last listening to another podcast, unless that podcast was a different episode of my podcast, in which case it’s only three days,” Kennedy explains.
“Hot Chicken & Cage-Free Conversation” is a production of Benztown + McVay Media Podcast Network.
