This Friday, Kip Moore will release his brand new studio album – Damn Love – that continues the upward trajectory laid out on Wild World.

On Damn Love, Kip Moore continues the trajectory he laid out on Wild World – where he dove deeper into the rockier edges of his vocal and sound. Damn Love is a gorgeously cohesive album that shows album craft is still alive and well. An album that should be listened to from start to finish, as the artist intended – taking you on a journey of love and loss, watered down in a bar with a hefty dose of whiskey whilst dwelling on life’s complications and joys. Moore himself talks of Damn Love, ‘I’ve always had a nomadic spirit, at the core of me that’s what I am, and it’s a beautiful life I lead – I don’t take that for grantedBut I still crave that companionship down deep in my DNA, and that’s where ‘Damn Love’ comes from.’ It’s that tension that runs through as the central tenet of this record and one that makes it so sonically and lyrically interesting.

Moore has always been an extraordinary live performer and there’s a hefty dose of that in evidence on Damn Love – from the anthemic ‘Heart on Fire’ to the thrumming, driving beats of ‘Silver and Gold.’ Nowhere is that energy more evident though than on the title track – a rocking thrumming song about the nature of love, it’s quirks and loveable flaws. ‘It’s sunsets and cold cans / It’s falling hard but college plans / Got you faking that smile / But you can’t let go of her hand / It’s a goodbye kiss and taillights / It’s phone calls and late nights / It’s what I wouldn’t give to be tongue-tied one more time.’ The album lays out the roadmap for the rest of the album – a signature rock-infused country track, where Moore yearns for love.

There are a decent amount of filler tracks on the album – including ‘Kinda Bar’ and the troubadour crooner ‘The Guitar Slinger,’ but it’s the sweet spot where Moore’s yearning for love meets with his electrifying rock-edged tracks that sear. So, on ‘Neon Blue,’ he sings of the world moving on without him as he continues his travelling ways – ‘Cos the world just don’t wait on no cowboy like me‘ – and on ‘Heart on Fire,’ backed with a thrumming beat, he delivers an addictively good rocking track about seduction, with the refrain ‘come get this heart on fire.’ There’s a vintage feel and echoes of his country roots that reverberate throughout the record, like on the 70s tinged rock ballad ‘Another Night in Knoxville.’

Where Moore has matured and grown over the past few albums has been in his quieter, more sentimental tracks that feel less cliched than his earlier tracks like ‘More Girls Like You.’ Now, he delivers the beautifully tender ‘Sometimes She Stays’ dripping with regret as he muses on a lost love. ‘Sometimes she stays, sometimes she goes / And that’s when you know, you want her to stay.’

The final quarter of the album is no doubt where the true magic lies, beginning with a sublime duet with Ashley McBryde – ‘One Heartbeat’ – that may be the finest on the record. It’s an electrifying song of yearning and hope for love. ‘One heartbeat and you got nothin’ / Make it two, baby you got somethin’ / This world ain’t meant to travel on alone.’ The raw edges of both Moore and McBryde’s vocals are sublime together.

‘Mr Simple’ is Kip Moore at his finest vulnerability, being happy with the simple side of life with his girl. ‘Why complicate it when it’s so easy to do? / Just call me Mr. Simple, girl / Livin’ simple with you.’ It’s the celebration of the small and everyday parts of life that is where Moore excels, as he rounds out the album with ‘Micky’s Bar’ – a good old country song that sings about the everyday comings and goings of life at its namesake. ‘Last call for drinks, it’s closing time / Micky’s wiping down, Sheri makes the coffee / For all the cold and lonely hearts.’

On Wild World, Moore laid out his heart, flaws and vulnerabilities in ways he had not previously done, and its this journey of personal reflection he continues on Damn Love, painting a picture of himself as a travelling soul but one with regrets and failings, amidst an internal tug of war between settling down and life on the road. Sonically, Moore is quieter, more intense and rock-fuelled than on the earlier records of his career, yet allowing more space for quieter moments of reflection that tie the album seamlessly together.

Making good on a long-time back and forth with his loyal fanbase, Moore hit the studio to put a 2022 update on the track originally featured on his widely celebrated debut album UP ALL NIGHT. The song has gone on to grow a life of its own over the past ten years, becoming one of the most requested songs during Moore’s signature live show. “Crazy One More Time” was co-written by Moore with Chris Lindsey and Aimee Mayo.

Recently making his long-anticipated return to C2C: Country to Country Festival, Moore’s set was praised as “nothing short of masterful” (Your Life In A Song), as he proved again, “Kip was born to be on the stage.” (Building Our Own Nashville). Next up, he will crisscross the US on the road this spring and summer for headlining shows and high-profile festival appearances. Moore first splashed into the mainstream with the double-Platinum “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” in 2012, then followed up with three more best-selling No. Ones (“Hey Pretty Girl,” “Beer Money” and “More Girls Like You”), a trio of ambitious, critically-praised albums and two gritty EPs that landed Moore on multiple “Best Of” lists. Moore recently garnered resounding acclaim for his fourth studio album, WILD WORLD. For more information visit kipmoore.net.

Kip Moore officially releases long-time fan favourite track ‘Crazy One More Time (Revisited)‘ – a newly produced version of the track is available now on all streaming platforms, ahead of his performance at C2C in March.

UK fan favourite Kip Moore is making good on a long-time back and forth with his loyal fanbase, re-releasing fan-favourite track “Crazy One More Time (Revisited)” to country radio in the US on Monday, January 24th. The original version was released as an album track on Moore’s widely celebrated debut album UP ALL NIGHT, and has gone on to grow a life of its own over the past ten years, as one of the most requested songs during Moore’s signature live show and over 20 million streams to date. Co-written by Moore with Chris Lindsey and Aimee Mayo, Moore hit the studio to put a 2022 update on the track, available to listen on all streaming platforms today HERE.

“The initial idea for ‘Crazy One More Time’ came about after running into someone that I hadn’t seen in years, and someone that I had a lot of history with,” shared Moore. “That’s kind of how I feel about this song right now, there is a history there, but now it has this new life sonically since we went back in the studio and recut it. This song has evolved over the years thanks to the fans. When we play it at shows the fans sing it as loud as my biggest songs, and if I don’t play it it’s the one that I get requested to play the most. I’m excited to go on this journey with this track at country radio.”

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kip Moore has joined forces in the studio with producer Jay Joyce on feel-good track ‘Good Life.’ Listen to the track here.

Singer/songwriter Kip Moore has dropped the brand new single, Good Life, available to listen here. Stepping into the studio for the first time with renowned producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban), the new track sees Moore shift gears sonically for the windows-down, volume-up anthem. Co-written by Moore with Dan Couch and Joyce, Good Life embodies a snappy self-awareness and an appreciation for living in the moment, with a soul-driven groove. The track is the first single taken from Moore’s fifth studio album, and offers a look into a new upcoming chapter from the critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter.

“I haven’t been this fired up about new music in a good while”, shared Moore. “I’m always trying to push myself out of any comfort zones that I may have settled into during the previous project, and I think working with Jay definitely helped me with that. I wrote this song and many more while surfing this past winter and I can’t wait for the fans to hear what’s coming.”

Moore’s new single Good Life follows the resounding acclaim garnered for his fourth studio album, WILD WORLD. The set, co-written and co-produced by Moore, was spotlighted by critics as “especially vital; occasionally, even rare,” (Esquire) and spawned his most recent single, She’s Mine“When programmed beats and pop-influenced country is the sound of the moment, Moore’s heartland country-rock songs with his growling voice feel muscular, nostalgic and honest” declared Associated Press

We’re back with another definitive ranking – this week with Kip Moore – creating our definitive ranking of the four records by Kip Moore, from our least favourite to favourite.

Kip Moore Wild World deluxe

Wild Ones (2015)

From start to finish Wild Ones was a flawless record, crafted with Moore’s signature anthemic sound and lightly stripped back moments – as a record in its entirety it was sequenced to perfection, however it didn’t have the same number of hits as his other records, hence we’re placing it here in our rankings.

Up All Night (2015)

Kip Moore’s debut record created so many of the mammoth live moments that his live set is now famous for, including ‘Beer Money’ and ‘Somethin’ Bout a Truck’ but it didn’t have quite the same level of nuances and vulnerability that he showcased in his later records.

Slowheart (2017)

Slowheart resulted in some of the biggest hits that we’ve come to associate with Moore’s name, including ‘Plead the Fifth’ and ‘Bittersweet Company’ – a mammoth record that showed Moore’s continuing ability to churn out quality records over and over again and really shining a spotlight on his vulnerable and tender side.

Wild World (2021)

On Wild World, Moore really pushed out the boat in showing his vulnerable side, the result is something truly magical, a record that will stick with you as a perfectly crafted sonic experience. It is a pity that the record hasn’t been toured live yet, we can’t wait for the live retelling because this was a seminal moment in the trajectory of Moore’s career.

Kip Moore is giving his fans just a little more tomorrow as he releases his deluxe version of his 2020 record – Wild World, including four additional tracks. Read our review of the original record here.

Kip Moore has always been known for providing a rip-roaring and hell-raising live performance – as he has demonstrated both at The Long Road and at C2C. Moore has an ability, like no other, to translate that raw, live energy into his studio records, time and time again. Wild World – his 2020 release – was no exception, providing huge hits like ‘Southpaw,’ ‘Janie Blu’ and ‘She’s Mine.’ You’d be hard pressed to find a bad track on the record that would not be a smash success live.

Now, tomorrow Moore will release four tracks to this impressive collection, rounding out the Wild World era, including the pre-released track ‘How High.’ The four tracks as a body are classic Moore, rip-roaring, gritty rock-filled and pacy tracks whose lyrics are imbued with a surprisingly raw tenderness, the stand-out of which is beyond a doubt the final number ‘Man’s Gotta Do.’ The first new track, ‘Don’t Go Changin’ is a well-trodden path for Moore, urging a lover not to change, incredibly reminiscent sonically of ‘Last Shot.’ It’s an edgy rock-fuelled love letter, with tender, pleading lyrical moments like, ‘World is turning crazy / I’ll stay your boy, you stay my lady. So don’t go changin’ on me baby.’ Similarly tender is following track ‘Midnight Slow Dance’ about wanting to get to know a lover – a follow-up to ‘She’s Mine.’ The track is pacy and driving, with a fiery guitar beat that feels frenetic. ‘Want to feel what’s in your heart / Brush against your lips..’ and almost feels like a yearning for a pre-pandemic time.

‘How High’ is a flawless vocal moment for Moore, showing the depth of his gritty tone. It’s a simmering track that sears with the addictive quality of love, moving with a swagger as he sings, ‘Red balloon, let it go, watch it rise ’til the jet stream blows… Girl that’s how high I get on you.’ Moore then takes the pace down a notch for the final track on the record – ‘Man’s Gotta Do.’ It’s a bittersweet and pensive track that feels raw and authentic – a classic country storytelling song, telling the story of a father explaining divorce to his son and the story of his son’s life after – all about the curves in life’s journey. ‘Sometimes a ride don’t go as you planned / No matter how hard you tried it’s out of your hands… Sometimes a boy’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.’ It’s a contemplative, stunning track, filled with regret, nostalgia and understanding. It feels fitting in message for the present moment and is one of Moore’s best lyrical moments, a perfect and fitting end to the deluxe version of the record. The four additional tracks on Wild World are powerful, showcasing the range of Moore, however it is this final track that carries the entirety of the four – let us hope it gets the attention it deserves in the coming months.

2020 has been one of the most difficult, turbulent years that we’ve lived through in recent memory. Despite the lack of touring, artists have showed up in a bigger way than ever with some of the most introspective and creative albums of their careers. Here we spotlight our top 20 Country and Americana albums of 2020.

20. Cam – The Otherside

Cam The Otherside

This year, Cam made her long-awaited and majestic return to the scene with The Otherside. A pop-tinged country record with a weighty agenda, with masterfully crafted songwriting including cuts from Sam Smith and Harry Styles.

Stand-out Tracks: ‘Forgetting You When I’m Alone’ / ‘Like A Movie’

19. Maddie & Tae – The Way It Feels

Maddie & TaeOne of the surprisingly highest contenders on our list of most-listened to albums of the year. Frankly, in a year of mundanity and low spirits, Maddie & Tae brought a deliciously, frothy country-pop album filled with some really mature and thoughtful songwriting.

Stand-out Tracks: ‘Drunk or Lonely’ / ‘Water In His Wineglass’

18. HARDY – A Rock

Hardy A RockThis record has surely elevated HARDY’s career to another level. Infusing heavy-hitting rock sounds and a Southern country twang, HARDY’s debut record is a stellar pointer of things to come that embraces his more personal stories.

Stand-out Tracks: ‘A ROCK’ / ‘BOYFRIEND’
