Ahead of her performance at C2C 2023, Alana Springsteen has released her new single ‘shoulder to cry on.’

Alana Springsteen finds her love life shifting into reverse for the end-of-the-road track, “shoulder to cry on,” available now across all streaming platforms and digital retailers. As featured on the first installment from her hotly anticipated three-part debut album, TWENTY SOMETHINGMessing It Up drops March 24 – pre-save/pre-add now. It’s a gorgeous track that continually hammers home the consistency of Springsteen to deliver an emotional and poignant ballad.

“‘shoulder to cry on’ represents a very real low point in the Messing It Up phase of my debut album TWENTY SOMETHING. Desperation, sadness, yearning, loneliness, self-doubt … it’s all there in this one. We’ve all wanted someone we can’t have at one point or another and prayed for some form of relief. It’s an incredibly uncomfortable place to be. I’ve always had a hard time letting myself cry. Allowing myself to feel emotions in general has been a struggle for me,” shares Springsteen. “My ex and I had our last big fight parked in my car in a subdivision lot, and it marked the beginning of the end of that relationship. I’ve now realized that a lot of my fights, breakdowns, and tears have happened when I’ve been alone in my car. It’s a safe space for me to be vulnerable.”

Written by Springsteen with Liz Rose, Trannie Anderson, and AJ Pruis, the cleverly-penned Country ballad maps out a vivid picture of a romantic breakdown – one where the crash-and-burn trauma comes well after the wreck. Full of highway-riding double entendre, she details two hearts heading off in different directions and the emotional fumes of being left behind: “This heart’s about to break / right on the interstate / I ain’t gonna make it home / So I’m pullin’ over / Cause I need a shoulder to cry on.” Featuring the weary, desolate sound of a midnight roadside, with beautiful yet distraught vocals and pounding drums to match her pounding heart, “shoulder to cry on” was produced by Chris LaCorte and Springsteen. Perfectly capturing an unexpected turn, strings and steel guitar breeze by as Springsteen’s relationship fades away like taillights in the dark. Watch the visualizer.

“It was important to me that the production on this one wasn’t too bare. I think it would have been easy to give it a really broken down, singer-songwriter feel, but this is a very emotional song for me, and I wanted it to take you on a ride. There’s nothing calm or controlled about the feelings this song represents,” adds Springsteen. “When that chorus hits, it’s completely desperate and I wanted the instrumentation to reflect that. The opposite is true for the bridge. It’s possible to scream, ‘I need a drink but damn it I’m drivin’’ in a moment where you lose control, and it’s also possible to whisper the words when you’re lost and on the verge of giving up with tears streaming down your face. This song represents both sides of that spectrum.”

Springsteen is currently supporting Adam Doleac’s ‘BARSTOOL WHISKEY WONDERLAND’ Tour, Springsteen and is next jetting for a three-show run of European arenas as part of CMA Presents Introducing Nashvilleduring C2C: Country to Country 2023 (March 10-12). Ahead of his performances as part of C2C 2023 and as part of Chase Rice’s ‘Way Down Yonder’ tour, Dalton Dover has released his new single ‘Giving Up On That.’

“It feels incredible to finally be able to share ‘Giving Up On That’ with the world,” says Dover. “I performed it during my Grand Ole Opry debut, and for it to be my first official single with Mercury Records makes this song even more special to me.”

I hope everyone can relate to it, as we’ve all had those relationships where we regret not bringing our best selves to the table until it’s too late, and I hope it finds the folks that need to hear it most,” he explains.

Written by Dover with Adam Craig and Josh Pierce, “Giving Up On That” showcases the Georgia native’s sharp vocals as he pleads with a long-gone lover, recounting his previous screw-ups and outlining the steps he’s taken to prove his loyalty and his desire to try again.

I pray it ain’t too late

For you to see what I’ve turned into

I just wish my workin’ on me is workin’ on you

But since you said goodbye,

And hit me with them taillights

I swear I’ve changed everything but your mind

Cause girl I’m giving up on

Drinking as much as I used to

When I had you

Giving up on

Just saying I’m gonna change

I’ve given up on passing the blame

Everything

Made you walk out on what we had

But when it comes to wanting you back,

I ain’t ever giving up on that

Next month, Dover prepares to make his international debut at C2C: Country to Country Festival’s CMA Songwriters Series before joining Chase Rice on the Way Down Yonder Tour in April. Sam Hunt has released his brand new song – Walmart – out everywhere now that shows how life can often have a way of working out for the good. Listen to the track here.

Multi-Platinum-selling hitmaker Sam Hunt releases new song “Walmart” today. Hunt and co-writers Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne maintain an undercurrent in “Walmart” that life has a way of working out, as Hunt transports the listener to a small town run in with an ex’s mother. Hunt is introspective while looking back on open-ended questions of his past, now with the knowledge of life and years gone by.

“Walmart” serves as the latest from the five-time GRAMMY nominee, following his nostalgic “Start Nowhere” and his current Top 20-and-climbing radio hit “Water Under the Bridge.” It’s a stunning, introspective, remorseful yet peaceful track about finding your peace with the bitterness of your past.

We parted ways in the summer, told me goodbye through your tears

I used to run into you over Christmas, but I hadn’t seen you in years

I used to think that I messed up, wonder if I should’ve stayed

I thought I’d always regret letting you go but all that regret went away

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

Your little girl, your little girl

She asked me how I was doing, I didn’t know what to say

I kept replaying how you used to say that you wanted a family someday

Someday was just an illusion, when this town was all that we knew

You told me you’d never get over me, honestly, part of me hoped that was true

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

Your little girl, your little girl

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world

Mackenzie Carpenter has released the cheekily soulful new track ‘Don’t Mess with Exes’ out everywhere today. Listen to the track here.

The new name on everyone’s lips – Mackenzie Carpenter – has released her brand new classic ‘80s Country-tinged track “Don’t Mess With Exes,” available today. The twangy, yet soulful tune cheekily pays tribute to George Strait’s lesson that Texas and exes just don’t mix. Adding to her growing repertoire of music that includes “Can’t Nobody,” “Huntin’ Season” and the recent “Jesus I’m Jealous,” the anticipation is already building for her debut album this year.

The track has a groovy, slow beat and 20th century inspiration on display from the first note, Carpenter’s “Don’t Mess With Exes” adds some tough love to the common on-again-off-again love story. The sassy songwriter stays true to her brand, warning her ladies alongside co-writers Nicolle Galyon and Brandon Hood that with past love it’s never just an innocent text. The girl power epiphany solidifies Carpenter’s ability to craft an electric pop-country hook.

“They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, so I’m just tryin’ to keep y’all from going insane out here,” laughs Carpenter. “I hope this song inspires whoever hears it to move on from what is holding them back and become the best version of themselves. Take my advice, don’t let him fool you twice!”

“Don’t mess with exes, no matter how bad you want to/ don’t second guess it, when that song gives you déjà vu,” sings Carpenter. “Go on and dust off your boots take a two step or two with somebody new, just whatever you do/ don’t mess with exes, ‘cause they’ll make a mess outta you.”

If this track is anything to go by, Carpenter is only just beginning to show what she is capable of.

Caylee Hammack has commenced a new era for her music, with the release of her brand new single ‘All or Nothing,’ out everywhere now.

Capitol Records Nashville’s Caylee Hammack is back – following the release of her immense debut album – with a fiery ultimatum with her new song “All or Nothing” available today here. Hammack co-wrote (Tofer Brown and Thomas Finchum) and co-produced (Dann Huff) the track that showcases her bold vocals as she serves up a take it or leave it message. The song, yet again, demonstrates Hammack’s consistent power to deliver one strong song after the other.

“‘All Or Nothing’ has been persistently burning through my pocket since we wrote it, so I’m thankful it’s out!” shared Hammack. “This song felt fitting as the introduction to my second album coming later this year. Everybody loves a good old war cry for good love sometimes.”

Hammack will head overseas next month, bringing her universal sound to C2C Festival with performances slated in London, Dublin and Glasgow.

Hammack has previously brought her unforgettable live set to opening slots for Reba, Darius Rucker, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley, Brothers Osborne and some of country music’s biggest festivals. She will feature as part of the ‘Introducing Nashville’ set on Friday night in London.

The track follows the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, including the release of a new version of her deeply personal song “Small Town Hypocrite” with a guest vocal by Chris Stapleton. Co-written and co-produced by Hammack, NPR and Esquire singled out the track as one of their “Best Songs of 2020.” Hammack’s breakout Top 30 single “Family Tree” marked the most-added single at Country radio by a female artist in over three years. Hammack was recently featured on several tracks from Ashley McBryde’s Lindeville including “Brenda Put Your Bra On,” “Bonfire at Tina’s,” and “When Will I Be Loved.”

Ahead of the release of his forthcoming album – I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go to Hell – Chase Rice is showing the last taste of the new album, with new single ‘Bench Seat,’ out everywhere now.

You’d be forgiven that an idea for a song about a guy and his dog driving around together, would fulfil every country cliche – Chase Rice did when his buddy approached him with the idea. Once he sat down with his acoustic guitar to craft what would become one of three solo writes on the forthcoming project, the result was anything but. ‘Bench Seat, available everywhere now, is a moving, tender and poignant tribute to that friend – and the dog that saved his life. It’s Rice at his most vulnerable and continues to show the breadth of Rice as an artist.

“My buddy was in a really dark place – to the point where he was ready to end his own life. It took a lot for him to take me back to that moment, but when he told me what stopped him it stopped me in my tracks: his dog came and laid his head on his lap, and that connection saved him,” Rice explains. “I wrote this song by myself with the point of view from the dog’s perspective – which might not be obvious right away – and what that moment might have meant for the two of them if not for that intervention.”

Building upon the emotional backstory of the song, the official music video directed by Kaiser Cunningham offers a seven-plus-minute short film spotlighting the mental health struggle that affects countless people and is one of the most moving music videos we have watched. The video’s intention is to encourage viewers to feel comfortable talking about the topic and seeking the assistance they need, with its conclusion pointing to available resources via wannatalkaboutit.com.

“For the first time in my career, I could envision the whole video as I was writing the song,” notes Rice. “I wanted to shine a light on the topic of mental health because this is something that makes way too many people feel alone and especially when addiction becomes part of the picture, one bad moment can have horrible consequences. I personally know how hard it can be to ask for help when you need it, but I hope this helps start a few more conversations and lets people know they really aren’t alone.

“When my friend was in that moment, it was impossible to see anything but the heaviness. He was able to get the help he needed, though, and now he’s living a beautiful life and starting a family. That’s what this video is really about – showing you the potential for a happy end to the story if you are able to find a way to get help through the dark times.”

The powerful song is one of 13 tracks on Rice’s forthcoming album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, set for release Feb. 10 and showcasing a more raw, vulnerable side of Rice. Recorded during an immersive two-week period at Rice’s farm outside Nashville with producer Oscar Charles and a live band using a makeshift recording setup, the album ranges from admiration of a Western way of life in recent releases ‘I Hate Cowboys‘ and ‘Way Down Yonder‘ to emotional reckoning in ‘Key West & Colorado‘ and today’s ‘Bench Seat’.

Canaan Smith delivers straight-up heartbreak country with an edge on new track, Heartbreak Heaven.

Williamsburg, Virginia native Canaan Smith continues to deliver quirky and polished country with his new track ‘Heartbreak Heaven’ out now. The track sees Smith dig further into his country roots in a honky-tonk hued track imbued with an edgy and groovy baseline.

Written by Canaan Smith, Brandon Kinney and Chris Loocke, the track was also produced by Smith, mixed by Dave Clauss and mastered by Andrew Ayan. Having a handle on the production has allowed him to continue to deliver authentic, no frills country that is immensely charming. This last track is a witty take on an age-old story – the first place love goes when it dies. ‘Raise a little hell where there ain’t no pain / At the paradise where hearts will learn hard lessons/ A little place called Heartbreak Heaven’.

Of the track, Smith shares, “It’s was one of my favorite songs to hear back after recording it because it has such a distinctive feel. The groove of the song… I just love that kind of music. Honky-tonk 2.0 is what it feels like to me… a big thick bass and a live band… It’s not all lined up and tuned up, on purpose. I wanted it to sound like I pictured ‘Heartbreak Heaven’ the bar to look and it belong in that setting. I pulled from all my honky-tonk traditions and made it something I felt could be evergreen for anyone who is a fan of bonafide country.”

The song is Smith’s taste of new material since the release of his critically acclaimed 2021 album High Country Sound, marking his first release as an independent artist. Taking full control of his career, Smith is making music that is true to his artistry as he realises his full potential as a vocalist and a songwriter.

CMA Song of the Year winner, Jordan Davis has released his new track – Part of It, available to listen to everywhere now here.

Multi-Platinum MCA Nashville hitmaker Jordan Davis earned his first CMA Award Wednesday evening for his 2x Platinum, multi-week No. 1 hit single, “Buy Dirt.” The track is one of the most streamed songs of the year in 2021 and 2022 – co-written by Davis and his brother Jacob, and Matt and Josh Jenkins. “Buy Dirt” is currently also nominated for Favorite Country Song at the 2022 American Music Awards, airing November 20th on ABC.  Now, Davis has released a brand new track, “Part of It,” as the latest preview of songs from his upcoming highly anticipated next album. Co-written by Davis, the song was also penned by fellow CMA Song of the Year recipient and brother Jacob Davis, and Jordan Walker and Matt McKinney.

As always, ‘Part of It’ shows off Davis’ honeyed vocals as he celebrates authenticity and his roots, in an ode to love and the everyday side of life – every part of it, the good and the bad, the twists and turns being a ‘part of’ it all.

Daddy said, I know ya thought she was the one and it ain’t not fun, but, son, that’s part of it

Sometimes you’re gonna hurt like hell and have some scars from it

Leave ya with a story to tell

Ya live and learn and good ones go

You find out on down the road
